Okay this read actually screams out at me because this points out how people tend to default to a particular way of thinking not really questioning whether that perspective was is truly their own because I was of the opinion that disabled people should put in a lot of consideration before choosing to have children
Why? because "Think of the children!" "The children would suffer" but I never really thought much about it.
So this perspective you have presented has changed the way I look at things so switch to a wider lens
Cuz if it took this little to switch my perspective, was it truly my original thought in the first place? I hope I'm making sense here.
Anyways, great take. I'm stalking your page out of love 💕
The bumps on my head back in the 1920's would have made me an imbecile.
That would have been considered a disability and doomed me on a predetermined educational path.
Black skin back in the 20's would've had the same effect.
Lesson. Using biology as a predetermined factor is always wrong. As you point out, its behavior and soceity that's the issue.
And this lesson is the same for both sexes. There's a 1.5% difference between men and women. The majority of that difference is in our reproductive organs, which are made from the same cells, expressed differently and hormonal level differences.
Eugenics leads to ethnic cleansing and genocide. The Nazi’s original programs were based on American Eugenic practices.
This was such an eye opener
